It’s time to learn a new skill to advance your career. Learn how to leverage the power of data, and drive better outcomes for your business and employees. As an analytics professional, you are the most important link between HR and the business. By determining the impact of people related variables you will show decision-makers which levers they need to turn in order to boost business performance. Get ready for the future of HR by preparing yourself for a role in HR analytics!

This specialization will prepare you for the role of an HR analytics lead or consultant. As HR analytics lead you’ll consult with both operation leaders and HR leaders to identify the problems and questions that you’ll need to answer with your analytics team.

You’ll have sufficient knowledge of statistics and data-analysis techniques to direct data scientists. Your focus will be on the (project)management side of analytics; connecting with the business, translating findings into actionable insights and advising operation leaders how they can improve business outcomes.

This specialization will enable you to conduct data cleaning and analysis using Excel. As a data analyst, you’ll dive deeper into your HR (and finance) data. Using PowerPivot and PowerQuery functionalities in Excel, you’ll learn how to import, connect, clean and analyze (large) datasets. You’ll also learn how to do strategic personnel planning (SPP) in Excel.

This specialization offers a unique opportunity to get a solid understanding of (HR) data and basic data-analysis. It combines well with the HR analytics lead program. Even if you have a data scientist at your disposal, this program offers a unique opportunity to get a feeling for working with (HR) data and learn some basic data-analysis skills.

This specialization will prepare you for a role of an HR data analyst. As a data analyst, you’ll dive deeper into your HR (and finance) data to find answers to relevant analytics questions. Using R, you’ll learn to analyze HR data and build predictive models on six key HR-topics such as turnover, absenteeism, learning & development and, recruitment.

As an HR analyst you’ll work closely together with the HR analytics lead (unless you are the analytics lead yourself!). Together you’ll transform quantitative findings into actionable insights and report these to business leaders and line managers.

In order to enroll in this course, students are required to be proficient in R or follow a (free) R introduction course. Please contact us at for more details.

“For those who are building an HR analytics team but not sure what skills set is required or how to go about it, the Analytics Lead course is definitely the right place to start. I highly recommend this course as it gives a comprehensive overview as to what HR analytics is about, it’s common pitfalls and how to use it to create value for your organization.
Personally, I found the 1:1 coaching with Erik to be very effective in getting answers to my questions.
Such tailored coaching sessions are invaluable and help participants deal with their own unique challenges.”
Doreen Loo – Finance business partner

“I’ve been reading your blog since July of last year, it’s been of great help in developing an HR analytics capability at my company. This is the course I had been waiting for ages 🙂 Highly relevant and a much needed upskilling opportunity for the HR profession.”
Sarah – HR Analytics Manager

“I am glad to have come across this course. It is easy to understand, practical and matched well with corporate requirements. This course seems to be the outcome of great research on HR Analytics. I learned how to start with HR Analytics and what is really required to adopt the concept successfully. Especially the bonus materials are real surprises and demonstrate the instructors’ passion for providing the best and most complete curriculum.
I convey my Special thanks to my inspiration and favorite instructor Mr. Erik van Vulpen.
I am confident about the skills I have developed on HR Analytics now and highly recommend this course to my fellow colleagues and friends who want to develop skills in HR Analytics.”

“I signed up because I think our organization could benefit a lot from HR Analytics.
During the second week of this course, I contracted a data analyst and about a week after finishing the course, I presented our first findings to the executive committee. The learnings from your course have proven essential during this process.
Next week I’ll be transitioning into the newly created role of HR Analytics Manager here. Thanks a lot, Erik & Lyndon!
I really recommend the lead course to those looking to make a career move. Very few people know what HR analytics is really about… this course certainly increases your competitive edge”
Joris Fisher – HR Manager

“HR Analytics is a hot topic. Many of our clients have heard about it and are looking at me to advise them on this topic. This course provided me with enough skills to fulfill my customer’s needs. I highly recommend it to all HR consultants.
I especially like the flexibility of the program and regularly revisit lesson to refresh my memory. Also great customer support!”
Kevin Dennekamp – Consultant

“I have background in both finance and HR. I’m already in charge of HR reporting and passionate about data-driven HR. This course helped me prepare for future positions as an analytics manager.
The Analytics in HR course is unique because it is accessible and very practical. I’m actually using some of the bonus materials in my work.”

Erik van Vulpen picture

Erik van Vulpen is founder of Analytics in HR. He’s an expert in connecting HR processes to business results through qualitative and quantitative methods. Erik is the author of ‘The Basic Principles of People Analytics’, has extensive experience in statistics, and teaches at Utrecht University (The Netherlands). He graduated in Law, Psychology (hons.) and Business Administration (hons.).

While the recognition of the applicability of People Analytics to HR management has been fairly recent, the building blocks to do this have been evolving for decades. In that vein, Lyndon Sundmark – as a resource – provides a seasoned perspective and a wealth of practical knowledge and ideas to People Analytics. His HR work since the 80’s, which started out as a human resource planning analyst, has always sought to encourage HR to be ‘data driven’.

John Lipinski completed his Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology at the University of Iowa, worked for three years as a post-doctoral researcher at the Institute for Neuroinformatics in Germany, and then at the U.S. Army Research Institute at Fort Benning, GA. He transitioned to the private sector where he now works as a data scientist in Human Capital/ HR Analytics and specializes in rigorous descriptive statistics, leading edge predictive analytics, machine learning, text analysis, and performance measurement. The best part of his job is breaking down the complicated stuff into digestible pieces to help others make better people decisions.
